There are two parts to the Village. The original Village, the Comox Valley Kiwanis Village was established in 1947 and was built in six separate phases. The second part is the Courtenay Kiwanis Village - street address 750 Pidcock Avenue - and that was built some twenty years ago. To be eligible for tenancy you need to be 55 years of age or older and have an annual income of less than $28,000.
The Comox Valley Village is managed by the Comox Valley Village Society that is formed from members of the Kiwanis Club of Courtenay and the Kiwanis Club of Comox. There is a part time Office Administrator.
The rents for the Comox Valley Village are controlled by the Comox Valley Village Society and are quite low in the context of the Valley. Low income residents may be able to get some assistance using the SAFER Grant Program.

Rents for the Courtenay Kiwanis Village are controlled by BC Housing, the Courtenay Village Society managing the Village on behalf of BC Housing. Low Income residents may qualify for a rent subsidy that is a function of income. The Office Administrator will be pleased to discuss this with you.
The Comox Valley Kiwanis Village has 44 units, all containing a living area, a kitchen a bedroom, a bathroom. Some units have a storage cupboard. Cable TV, telephone and electicity are the responsibility of the tenant. The Village pays for water.
The Courtenay Kiwanis Village has 20 units again containing a living area, a kitchen a bedroom, a bathroom and a storage cupboard. Cable TV, telephone and electricity are the responsibility of the tenant. The Village pays for water.
There is a well equipped Social Centre and kitchen and there is a scooter shed available for a small monthly fee. There is free car parking space for residents. There are laundry facilities for tenant use in both Villages.
Pets are only allowed as visitors with their owners.
The Villages operate a no smoking environment for new tenants.
